THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHT

The song was written by South African Solomon Linda in 1939 but he received no royalties from the song and died a pauper. This version was recorded by an American group - The Tokens - in 1961 and it was number 1 in the hit parade for three weeks.
The younger generation have probably heard the song as featured in Walt Disney's 'The Lion King'.
